Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will:

  • Champion compliance and quality standards throughout the organization.
  • Facilitate training sessions on workmanship standards (IPC-610) and quality benchmarks.
  • Ensure that all products meet compliance requirements before delivery.
  • Participate in process validation and new product introduction initiatives.
  • Develop and implement Quality Plans tailored to specific customer accounts.
  • Review device history records to ensure quality approval.
  • Manage Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and collaborate with Project Managers to assess and implement changes effectively.
  • Propose enhancements to the ECN/ECO processes to boost efficiency and quality.
  • Analyze non-conformances and conduct root cause analysis to drive corrective actions.
  • Work closely with internal teams and customers to resolve quality issues using various analytical techniques.
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineering in addressing non-conforming materials.
  • Assist in the Quality Control inspection process and develop Quality Assurance Forms as necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of quality inspection plans.
  • Engage in regulatory audits for customer accounts.
  • Build strong relationships with customers through data analysis and reporting.
  • Address manufacturing floor quality concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to identify trends and implement corrective measures.
  • Work with Engineering to optimize work order routings.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Operations on managing the Material Review Board (MRB) process.

Qualifications

  • Proactive attitude with strong follow-up skills.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Preferred IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification, with instructor-level experience being advantageous.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Familiarity with placement and inspection equipment, including AOI and Juki/Fuji.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in PCB quality manufacturing, with 5 to 7 years preferred.
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of IPC 620 standards is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, including advanced functionalities.
  • Experience with MS Visio for creating diagrams and reports is beneficial.
  • Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE) is preferred.

Work Environment

Approximately 70% of the role is conducted in a precision PCBA production environment, with the remainder in office and warehouse settings.

Physical Requirements

Ability to interact with technology and communicate effectively in both standing and seated positions.
