e CancerCare is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in administering prescribed doses of radiation to patients with cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by the physician, ensuring accurate treatment delivery and patient safety.
- Verify treatment plans and doses before each treatment, and ensure proper placement of protective devices to shield healthy tissue.
- Collaborate with the Radiation Oncologist and therapy team to develop treatment plans and ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed treatment chart documentation, and observe patient progress to recognize and report any signs of complications.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and perform machine safety checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- ARRT Board eligible or certified
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends as needed
- ARRT Board certified
- BS in a related field
- Two years of clinical experience in a similar setting
- Excellent judgment and dependability
- Detail-oriented and able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Caring and empathetic approach to patient care
