Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist II to join our team at Sutter Health. As a Radiation Therapist II, you will be responsible for competently performing routine and specialized radiation treatments in accordance with the treatment plan developed by the physician.

You will work independently, exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results in a timely manner. You will also gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication.

Adhering to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures, you will ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. Additionally, you may be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orienting other staff to the department.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and specialized radiation treatments in accordance with the treatment plan developed by the physician.
  • Work independently, exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures.
  • Gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication.
  • Adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.
  • Perform specific procedures and/or orient other staff to the department as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy Program.
  • ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists.
  • RHTT-Therapeutic Radiologic Technology by the Radiologic Health Branch.
  • OR RHA-Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiologic Technology by the Radiologic Health Branch.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
  • 2 years recent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • General knowledge of radiation therapy principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
  • Experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
  • Capable of performing routine radiation treatment and simulations.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills.
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and related information systems.
Work Environment

This position is a per diem/casual role, working days, with a schedule of 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. As needed, you may be required to work weekends.

This role is non-exempt and offers a competitive hourly rate of $71.18 to $92.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
