Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Security Officer to join our team at Reinsurance Group of America. As a key member of our security operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our employees, visitors, and assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior management in supervising and training contracted security staff
  • Perform duties related to protecting employees, visitors, guests, and property from threats or harm
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the security system database for credentialing and access control
  • Provide 24/7 security support to global offices integrated into the Genetec security system
  • Implement and create alarm controls for all RGA offices
  • Assist senior security staff with day-to-day operations of RGA facilities
  • Supervise, manage, and evaluate contracted security personnel
  • Conduct security audits, analysis, and generate reports
  • Communicate security concepts and information to contracted staff
  • Manage, monitor, and regulate facility access
  • Continually monitor the security system and identify safety/security concerns
  • Respond to and document incidents occurring on RGA property
  • Assign, conduct patrols, and identify safety/security concerns
Requirements
  • Proficient IT ability in operating, navigating, and troubleshooting integrated security systems
  • Ability to navigate multiple software, applications, systems, and databases concurrently
  • Ability to continuously review and analyze real-time information regarding physical security status
  • Possess a broad-based knowledge of best practices for security-related systems and issues
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as an effective team member
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to build partnerships
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrate business computer aptitude and ability to navigate multiple software applications or databases concurrently
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
  • Proven abilities in conflict resolution techniques
  • Ability to work flexible hours, alternating shifts, and weekends, on-call 24/7
  • Ability to use computer, handheld communication devices, and various security systems and devices
  • High School or General Education Diploma, college education preferred
  • Minimum of five years of law enforcement, security, military, public safety experience or a related field
  • Proven proficiency with security applications and analytics
  • Ability to operate and navigate applications associated with the EZ Lobby Visitor Management System
  • First responder experience (current license preferred)
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Licensed as a Security Officer in St. Louis City and St. Louis County
  • Functional knowledge of the Incident Command System
