Overview

HILGARTWILSON, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a Project Engineer-Site Development to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our clients in the land development and site development sectors.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be highly organized, and have a strong background in civil engineering principles and construction plans. A Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering or a related field is preferred, and 4+ years of experience in land development or site development engineering is required. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Arizona is preferred or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares reports, final design plans, technical specifications, and other technical documents with limited assistance.
  • Responsible for quality control, schedules, and plan production.
  • Delegates work within the team and provides technical guidance to ensure design is technically sound and cost-efficient.
  • Partially responsible for team morale, team efficiency, and monitoring performance of team members.
  • Coordinates with team members, staff, municipalities, consultants, and clients.
  • Provides highly technical design and quality control.
  • Processes plans and resolves issues with plan reviewers.
  • Evaluates and anticipates design risks and opportunities.
  • Assists with project and team management.
  • Mentors other design staff in areas of technical expertise.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering or related field preferred.
  • 4+ years experience in land development or site development engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), AZ P.E. preferred or ability to obtain AZ within 6 months.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required, Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Computer design skills including spreadsheets and scheduling.
  • Capable of preparing design on most projects.
  • Possess understanding of civil engineering principles and construction plans.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
