Samaritan Pacific is a 25-bed critical access hospital serving residents and tourists of Depoe Bay, Newport, Toledo, Waldport, and Yachats. As a community-based hospital, it provides fast and reliable consulting services and smooth patient transport to other facilities.

The hospital has undergone significant renovations, including the addition of an 86,000 square foot, three-story building featuring a new 17-bed emergency department. The patient population presents a mix of interesting pathology and standard Emergency Medicine cases.

Job Description:

As a Medical Director for Emergency Medicine at Samaritan Pacific, you will have the opportunity to evaluate and treat a wide variety of patients and illnesses in a positive environment of physician support. You will be working alongside experienced staff physicians and advanced practice clinicians, perfecting your skills and learning new ones.

You will care for approximately 18,000 patients annually in our 17-bed emergency department, documenting their care using EPIC. Our team is committed to quality and safety, and we are proud to be one of the largest integrated healthcare providers in the country.

This is an independent contract position offering many resources, including 24/7 onsite hospitalists, gen surgery and OB coverage, ultrasound 24/7, robust MRI availability on site, 12 hours/day APC ED coverage, Lifeflight transport services, Telestroke support, and local county mental health coverage.
