Senior Data Analyst

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and analyze data anomalies and issues reported by the business
  • Collaborate with ETL, Replication, and DBA teams to determine and document data transformations, movements, and derivations
  • Ensure consistent and proactive support methodologies for all aspects of data movements and transformations
  • Assist in break-fix situations and production validation related to data derivations, replication, and structures
  • Support the configuration and ongoing setup of Data Virtualization tools
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for Data Standardization definitions, Data Dictionary, and Data Lineage
  • Gather information from various sources and interpret patterns and trends
  • Contribute to the improvement of data quality and efficiency of data processes
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of SQL experience working in OLTP, Data Warehouse, and Big Data databases
  • 8+ years in a Data Analyst role
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Extensive background in writing complex queries
  • Extensive working knowledge of all aspects of Data Movement and Processing, including ETL, API, OLAP, and best practices for data tracking
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and departments
Nice-to-Haves:
  • 6+ years of experience writing medium to complex stored procedures
  • Experience with Denodo
  • Big Data experience (Hadoop, MongoDB, Exadata)
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and practices
  • Experience in the energy or utility sector
