We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at GeoEngineers. As a key member of our geotechnical services team, you will be responsible for conducting field explorations and observations of earthwork and foundation construction projects. Your expertise will be essential in developing a broad understanding of soil conditions and construction-related geotechnical issues.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct field explorations and observations of earthwork and foundation construction projects to gather data and insights.
- Prepare detailed field reports and perform geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, deep foundation design, and seismic evaluation.
- Assist in gathering field data and samples for related projects, and coordinate samples for testing as needed.
- Provide support to our geotechnical teams at other locations as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required; Master's in Geotechnical or related field strongly preferred.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience required.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and successfully work within a team.
- Proven problem-solving and professional-level verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
- One year of driving experience in the United States; consideration will be provided for international driving experience.
- All employees are subject to completing a background check, reference check, and pre-employment physicals and drug/alcohol testing.
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities and do heavy work, including exerting up to 50 pounds of force on occasion.
- Able to perform consistent work on a PC.
- Ability to travel for short-term and long-term assignments as needed.
- All employees are responsible for conducting their work in a safe manner, including identifying potential safety hazards and reporting them to the designated project manager in a timely manner.
GeoEngineers offers a competitive salary range of $62,000 - $78,800 annually, based on education and experience. Our total rewards package includes healthcare, 401(k) with company match, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, paid vacation and sick time, and paid holidays.
