Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Coating Technician I to join our team at FM Industries. As a Coating Technician I, you will play a critical role in assisting other Coating Technicians and performing various tasks related to coating operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process parts according to Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Practice Instructions (SPIs).
  • Inspect components for damage and coating quality.
  • Operate a variety of tools and equipment, including measurement devices, calipers, and blasting equipment, while following established safety policies and procedures.
  • Successfully achieve certification in blasting, masking, and part coating measurements.
  • Complete Coating Technician Qualification Tech-I Training.
  • Use and interpret pre and post-coating measurement tools.
  • Accurately fill out and file all required paperwork.
  • Ensure accurate routing of work orders.
  • Move parts according to established part-handling procedures.
  • Follow all quality and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean work area according to 6S guidelines.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED equivalent, or technical school.
  • Reliable attendance and excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and perform basic math.
  • Ability to communicate, read, and interpret documents written in standard English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details of various processes and test methodologies.
  • Ability to perform daily tasks with little supervision.
  • Ability to take legible written notes, document a process, and repeat the process.
Working Environment
  • Regularly exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts, ovens, and risk of burns.
  • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
  • High noise levels from operating machines.
  • Required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 4:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
