Position Overview
The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital is responsible for the independent planning and delivery of nursing care to patients, adhering to physician directives and established protocols. This role aligns with the Georgia Nurse Practice Act and embodies the core principles outlined by the American Nurses Association (ANA). Nursing is defined as the promotion and optimization of health, prevention of illness, and advocacy for individuals and communities.
Key Responsibilities
The Staff RN III will:
- Manage the care of a designated group of patients, ensuring adherence to Northside Hospital's philosophy and policies.
- Utilize clinical knowledge and practice standards to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Engage in professional practice through effective communication, ethical standards, and resource utilization.
- Participate in leadership activities, including collaboration and community involvement.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Required:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program and a valid RN license in Georgia without restrictions.
- A minimum of one year of full-time nursing experience following orientation or residency.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Additional certifications may be required based on the specific clinical unit.
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- National Certification in a Clinical Specialty is advantageous.
- Additional preferred attributes may vary by clinical unit.
