About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Machine Learning Systems Engineer to join our Central AI team at Atlassian. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the core infrastructure for machine learning engineers and data scientists to develop, train, evaluate, deploy, and operate Machine Learning models and pipelines.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop large-scale distributed systems using Amazon Web Services (S3, Kinesis, Cloud Formation, EKS, AWS Security and Networking)
  • Build and operate large-scale data processing systems using Apache Spark
  • Collaborate with other teams and internal customers to set expectations, gather input, and communicate results
  • Lead other engineers to drive involved projects from technical design to launch
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer
  • Fluency in at least one modern object-oriented programming language (preferably Java/Kotlin and Python)
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration
  • Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems using Amazon Web Services (S3, Kinesis, Cloud Formation, EKS, AWS Security and Networking)
  • Experience with distributed large-scale data processing (preferably Apache Spark)
What We Offer

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. Our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

  • Zone A: $229,300 - $305,700
  • Zone B: $206,300 - $275,100
  • Zone C: $190,300 - $253,700
