Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Job Summary: Murdock Martell is seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer to lead our financial strategy and operations. As a visionary financial leader, you will guide our organization's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure our continued success.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and maintain our organizational administration and accounting systems to ensure our financial obligations are met.
  • Monitor the effective functioning of our organizational systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide strong leadership, direction, and initiative in overseeing our assigned staff/departments to assure their active participation in implementing policies/procedures to achieve our goals.
  • Oversee all of our financial management systems, including monitoring monthly financial statements, facilitating financial reporting to contracting agencies, and negotiating our borrowing needs with banks.
  • Meet regularly with our CEO and Board of Directors to review our financial position and advise accordingly.
  • From a budget perspective, monitor budget performance (revenue, expense, overhead, and cash flow).
  • Arrange and ensure compliance for annual agency audit of Accounting systems, ensuring State and Federal Laws and Regulations, and Accounting and Auditing standards are effectively applied to our fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Monitor all accounting systems, including General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable, and support migration to updated accounting platforms, as needed.
  • Run the administrative department to ensure all requirements for accreditation, licensing, and funding are met.
  • Supervise all fixed assets, including buildings and equipment.
  • Work closely with our CEO to develop policies and procedures for effective operation and management.
  • Implement financial controls, procedures, and reporting protocols.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, MBA, or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years of senior-level experience managing a budget of over $10 million.
  • Strong forecasting and strategic planning ability.
  • Skilled at taking in a lot of information, sorting out the relevant facts, developing findings, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations.
  • Ability to relate to people with disabilities.
  • Proactive and able to effectively move from the idea stage through implementation.
