Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Young Men's Christian Association of Wichita Kansas. As a State PreK Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children aged four and five years old.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans to promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth in children.
  • Monitor children's progress through observation, record-keeping, and assessments to ensure they meet developmental milestones.
  • Develop a daily schedule that balances active and quiet activities to promote a healthy and engaging learning environment.
  • Maintain positive relationships with families through regular communication and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Manage classroom supplies and equipment in a safe and organized manner.
  • Participate in organizational meetings and training to stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Meet and/or exceed KDHE regulations and CACFP guidelines to ensure a high-quality program for children.
Requirements
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Current Teaching License in Elementary Education (preferably with early education specialization)
  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education
  • Relevant experience working with children
  • Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Child Development
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to perform moderate physical activities, including climbing, bending, and lifting up to 75 pounds
  • Problem-solving, organizational, and task management skills
  • High level of maturity, patience, dependability, sound judgment, and motivation to work with children
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and independently
