Job Summary

The Site Supervisor for Solar Field Construction will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the construction site, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform preventative maintenance to ensure that all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Track and schedule required periodic repairs or service to minimize downtime and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Ensure safe storage and operation of all vehicles and equipment, adhering to manufacturer recommendations and local laws.
  • Actively manage all aspects of the field teams and temporary workers, including performance, mentorship, safe work ethic, scheduling, productivity, logistics, and work schedules.
  • Train, motivate, and manage team members to ensure high morale and proper execution of their career responsibilities.
  • Ensure that the behavior of field representatives is representative of the company's core values and aligns with the company's culture.
  • Personally demonstrate and model positive team behavior that contributes to efficiency, productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Receive, track, and record all expenses associated with each installation phase and all delivered inventory.
  • Track and record all labor hours performed on site every day and timely submit to Company management.
  • Track and record all sub-contractor work hours and performance to ensure they stay on task and adhere to subcontract agreements.
  • Ensure that installation of ground screws, rock drilling, leg-setting, and racking are performed within stated tolerances of the site construction plans or subcontractor agreements with clients.
  • Schedule, hold, and participate in regular meetings with department, teams, managers, and other functional partners to review performance updates, installation strategy, safety procedures, and any general information related to the project that will aid in successful completion.
  • Execute, track, and record daily performance strategy as indicated by management team; draft and submit daily electronic field reports that include project status updates, project issues and recommendations, any interaction of consequence, suggestions on hiring and/or firing Terrasmart's employees and contractors.
  • Implement installation strategy as indicated by management team during construction meetings.
  • Complete all required or directed training, certification, licensing, and other learning and development as assigned.
  • Abide by all Federal, State, and local laws; uphold and maintain accountability to all Company policy.

Career Progression Tiers

Newly hired Site Supervisors will be hired in Tier I as Site Supervisors, Screw Team.

Upon satisfactorily completing the Terrasmart training program on Survey, successfully passing a Survey assessment, and successfully completing a leg-setting project on-time, on-budget, and within scope and tolerance, the Site Supervisor may be eligible for promotion recommendation by the Director of Construction to Tier II as a Site Supervisor, Leg Setting Team.

Upon satisfactorily completing the Terrasmart On-the-Job (OJT) training program on Racking, successfully passing a Racking assessment while under the instruction of a Racking Supervisor, and successfully completing a Racking project on-time, on-budget, and within scope and tolerance as the primary Site Supervisor, the Site Supervisor may be eligible for promotion recommendation by the Director of Construction to Tier III as a Site Supervisor, Racking Team.
