Key Responsibilities- Safety First: Support the Western Flyer Xpress core value of safety by adhering to established protocols and procedures.
- Parts Management: Collaborate with the Service Manager and Parts Manager to enforce established parts processes and control tire spends in the shop.
- Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn and damaged parts, and determine vehicle condition.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance schedules to keep equipment available for use.
- Repair and Maintenance: Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
- Performance Verification: Conduct test drives to verify vehicle performance and adjust controls and systems as needed.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of vehicle services and repairs, and document missing parts, damages, and uncleanliness.
- Cost Containment: Use warranty and evaluate service and parts options to contain costs.
- Professional Development: Participate in educational opportunities and stay up-to-date with technical and regulatory publications to enhance job knowledge.
- Team Player: Enhance the maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Experience: 2 or more years of experience in the Diesel Maintenance Field.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required, Associate degree preferred (Tech School).
- Skills: Ability to multi-task, solid analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient computer skills, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance, ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, and ability to lift or carry 50lbs.
