Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power Plant Operator to join our team at Eagle Creek Renewable Energy LLC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our hydroelectric power plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily plant inspections to identify and address any potential safety or operational issues.
  • Start and stop generating units and auxiliary equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conduct safety inspections and monitor security systems, maintaining accurate logs and reports.
  • Operate heavy equipment and hand tools, including chain saws, to perform routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Work on a rotating schedule to cover weekend duty and holidays, responding to emergent plant issues as needed.
  • Assist in developing plant safety procedures and JSA procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors in the performance of their activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of tasks.
  • Participate in safety programs developed by the company, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Requirements
  • At least two years of related experience in a power plant or industrial setting, with a strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
  • Instrumentation and control system experience, including troubleshooting of PLC-based control systems and general calibration of instrumentation devices.
  • Ability to communicate and report downtime-related events in a timely manner to the regional manager.
  • Experience with basic industrial maintenance techniques, including the operation of hand and power tools.
  • The ability to maintain a valid driver's license and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with a vocational certificate or degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Outlook, etc.) for use in business communication.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform manual tasks, including the operation of hand and power tools, lifting at least 50 lbs, and working in hot, noisy, and dark environments.
  • Comfortability working at heights and around water, with the ability to work with and wear respiratory protection.
  • Clear and effective verbal communication in all circumstances, including emergency situations and giving/receiving instructions over a radio.
