Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Press Line Operator plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by managing the operation of the press machinery and ensuring optimal performance of equipment. This position involves maintaining a detailed production log, inspecting the finished products for quality assurance, and confirming that all items meet the required specifications before distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confirms that the correct mold is installed on the press for the designated product.
  • Reviews the setup check sheet affixed to the press to ensure compliance.
  • Prior to loading the press, verifies the crumb rubber formulation and weight as per the setup sheet.
  • Efficiently loads crumb rubber into the press using a bucket, ensuring even distribution.
  • Carefully extracts the finished product from the mold and places it on the designated work surface.
  • Trims and organizes the finished products for shipment to the logistics department.
  • Maintains a daily record of production output for each press operation.

General Duties:

  • Adheres to established safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Keeps the work area clean and orderly.
  • Identifies and escalates any quality or safety concerns to management.
  • Collaborates effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets while fostering a culture of respect and teamwork.
  • Performs additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure precise adherence to operational instructions.
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and maintain production flow.
  • Excellent communication abilities for clear interaction with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency for accurate calculations and measurements.

  • Ability to follow established procedures and instructions meticulously.
  • Dependability in attendance and task completion with minimal supervision.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing setting.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Endurance to stand for prolonged periods and perform tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and conditions typical of a warehouse setting, including dust and other materials.
