Job Opportunity: Rochester-Based Float Direct Support Professional

Are you a motivated and adaptable individual looking for a challenging role in a dynamic environment? We are seeking a Rochester-based Float Direct Support Professional to join our team at Cardinal of Minnesota, Ltd.

Job Summary:

This is a non-exempt, hourly position that requires flexibility and a willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends. As a Rochester-based Float Direct Support Professional, you will provide support to our residential programs in Rochester and surrounding areas, relieving short-staffed programs and filling in for time off requests/medical leaves.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities in a residential setting
  • Relieve short-staffed programs and fill in for time off requests/medical leaves
  • Support programs in Rochester, Chatfield, Mantorville, Austin, Spring Valley, and Red Wing
  • Travel to all locations listed above
Requirements:
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass a MN Criminal Background Screen
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Reliable transportation and proof of current car insurance
  • Essential physical skills, including walking, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting at least 50 pounds, pushing and pulling against potential resistance, and implementing non-physical and physical interventions
  • Adequate vision, reading, writing, and documentation skills, and comprehension of the English language
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position for all departments included in the identified geographical area supported
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of COM
  • A sense of humor and ability to have fun while at work
  • Preference given to staff possessing a minimum of one year's prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities
