About The Role:


The Senior Credit Risk Analyst plays a crucial role in evaluating and interpreting credit risks, reviewing credit histories, and making informed decisions regarding the approval or denial of credit extensions to prospective clients.

This position involves collaboration with various departments within the organization, as well as interactions with automobile dealers and other financial institutions.

Additionally, the Senior Credit Risk Analyst will nurture dealer relationships, manage incoming applications and inquiries, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.


In This Role You Will:
  • Assess credit information to evaluate the level of risk associated with extending credit.
  • Make informed decisions to approve or reject credit applications within the established authority set by senior management and regulatory guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers to achieve volume and credit quality targets.
  • Secure automotive finance contracts that align with GM Financial's profitability standards.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate cooperation among branch offices and other departments to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage all queues to meet acceptable service levels.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to dealer customers through telemarketing.
  • Participate in joint dealer visits with Dealer Account Representatives as needed.
  • Verify that all necessary documentation is obtained for each transaction.
  • Negotiate terms of loans effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and persuasively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, both formally and informally, to secure their agreement and support.

Qualifications:
What Makes You a Strong Candidate:
  • Understanding of sales, credit, and funding processes within consumer finance.
  • Familiarity with motor vehicle retail installment documentation.
  • Knowledge of the company's credit policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of consumer credit, relevant laws, and regulations.
  • Insight into the retail automobile finance sector.
  • Experience with indirect retail auto financing.
  • Awareness of State and Federal regulatory requirements.
  • Background in consumer finance and banking environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Effective communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
  • Sales acumen necessary for developing and sustaining productive dealer relationships.
  • Negotiation proficiency.

Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
