Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to provide direct patient care to members with communication and swallowing disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in evaluating, diagnosing, and developing therapy/treatment programs to improve or restore communicative facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients with communication and swallowing disorders to determine the need for therapy/treatment programs.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy/treatment programs to address speech, language, voice, and swallowing impairments.
  • Administer diagnostic tests and provide treatment to adults and children with a variety of communication disorders, voice and swallowing impairment, and neurological defects.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective treatment outcomes.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy/treatment programs as needed.
  • Provide in-service training to healthcare staff and supervise the development and treatment of Speech Pathology Assistants.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of speech therapy by attending professional seminars and workshops.
Requirements:
  • Masters or Doctorate Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Minimum one (1) year clinical experience in Speech Pathology.
  • Speech-Language Pathologist License (California) required at hire.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support required at hire from American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum one (1) year clinical experience in dysphagia management.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
