Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in Lynwood, California. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with communication disorders, voice and swallowing impairments, and neurological defects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer diagnostic tests and provide individualized treatment to adults and children with a variety of communication disorders, voice and swallowing impairments, and neurological defects.
  • Advise physicians of test results and recommend and implement appropriate treatments.
  • Monitor patient progress and collaborate with physicians to alter treatment programs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local laws.
  • Develop and present in-service programs in the area of speech and language pathology.
  • Perform diagnostic clinical swallowing evaluations on a diversified patient population.
  • Interpret and report the results of evaluations and tests to referring physicians, therapists, and other medical staff.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of therapy programs addressing speech, language, voice, and swallowing problems for a diversified patient population.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree or Ph.D. in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Speech-Language Pathology Required Professional Experience License - Temporary (California) required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support required at hire.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and utilize theories, principles, practices, techniques, and methods of Speech Therapy.
