Electrical EIT Job Description

At Smith Seckman Reid, we're seeking a talented Electrical EIT to join our team. As an Electrical EIT, you'll play a crucial role in assisting our senior design staff in executing technical activities on assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production of designs using Revit and/or CADD with the guidance of senior design staff.
  • Participate in technical studies, investigations, and design on assigned projects under supervision.
  • Learn and apply industry standards and company technical policies and procedures during project execution.
  • Assist in the execution of design processes and analysis on assigned projects, requesting assistance from design staff when needed.
  • Perform basic computer-based engineering calculations and system design functions under supervision.
  • Coordinate project designs with other disciplines to determine equipment needs, provide input for operating procedures, and offer technical information.
  • Observe and learn the information used by project managers to develop man-hour budgets.
  • Assist in the development of technical documentation, proposals, and presentations.
  • Communicate design requirements with contractors and equipment sales representatives to determine project scope and feasibility.
  • Accompany senior design staff on project job site visits to investigate field conditions and monitor progress based on design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schematics, and engineering reports.
  • Attend internal and external training and educational opportunities to gain knowledge in necessary technical areas.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software (i.e., Revit and AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies.
