Job Description

The South Branch Inn is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by assisting with food preparation, ingredient management, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation: Assist in preparing meals and ingredients, including washing and chopping vegetables and meat, measuring ingredients and seasonings, and parboiling food.
  • Ingredient Management: Stock and label ingredients on shelves, and manage the inventory of kitchen supplies.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Keep the kitchen clean and orderly by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out the trash.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless food preparation and service.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality and safety, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure, excellent customer service and communication skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 40 pounds.
