Overview

The Respiratory Therapist Care Specialist is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with acute critical conditions and cardiac and pulmonary disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs diagnostic tests such as EKGs to inform treatment plans and improve patient outcomes.
  • Monitors invasive and non-invasive ventilators to track patient recovery and make adjustments as needed.
  • Advocates for patients' needs internally to deliver personalized care and support.
  • Ensures that equipment is functioning properly through established protocols, allowing for effective treatment planning.
  • Documents patient care and outcomes according to regulatory requirements and organizational procedures.
  • Supports the administration of advanced therapies, such as bronchoscopies, to treat complex cases.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of a 2-year respiratory therapy program.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of clinical experience in respiratory care at Cone Health.
  • Licensure/Certification: Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a RRT; Licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as a CRT or RRT; BLS (CPR) certification from the American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; ACLS certification from the American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Estimated Salary:

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
