Overview:
The Rest Area Maintenance Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that the North and Southbound Rest Areas along I-95 are kept clean and well-maintained for the benefit of all visitors. This position is essential in promoting a positive image of Gulfstream Goodwill within the community while adhering to established methods and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly clean restrooms, including toilets, sinks, floors, and walls.
- Maintain cleanliness of foyer areas by sweeping and mopping floors.
- Clear curbs and gutters of debris.
- Ensure picnic tables and surrounding areas are clean and tidy.
- Restock soap and other supplies as necessary.
- Keep the attendant's room organized and clean.
- Regularly empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Collect litter from flower beds, parking lots, and building perimeters; perform weeding as needed.
Additional Duties:
Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of Gulfstream Goodwill by supporting individuals with disabilities and other barriers to self-sufficiency. Participate in meetings and training sessions to maintain knowledge of operational procedures and safety protocols. Adhere to safety regulations and ensure a clean and orderly work environment.
Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and follow simple instructions.
- Demonstrated professionalism in interactions with colleagues and the public.
- Commitment to safety practices in all job-related activities.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and stretching.
Tools and Equipment:
Utilize cleaning equipment, brooms, hoses, and personal protective gear as required.

Compensation: $8.65 - $9.00/hr
Shifts: Varies, including morning, evening, and overnight hours.
