Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Habilitation Supervisor 1 to join our team at the Arizona Department of Economic Security. As a key member of our Division of Developmental Disabilities, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

Job Duties:
  • Maintain compliance with ICF/IID certification requirements and Managed Care surveys, ensuring staff are knowledgeable of and implement all federal and state regulations.
  • Model and monitor behavior to ensure all staff provide consistently high-quality care for members, including appropriate attire, skin and nail care, bathing and grooming, and treating members with dignity, respect, and privacy.
  • Complete performance evaluations, approve ETE Timecards for staff, facilitate shift meetings, communicate with staff regarding job performance, and complete work schedules and staffing levels.
  • Participate in interviews and problem-solving personnel issues, communicate pertinent information to staff related to their job and individuals for whom they are responsible.
  • Complete review of Client Incident Reports to ensure all information is accurate and complete, and ensure required documentation is completed daily.
  • Participate in ISP development, ISP reconvenes, Behavior Management Reviews, Psychiatric clinics, Home Risk Meetings, and ensure staff is knowledgeable of each member and able to advocate for the member effectively.
  • Model and monitor train staff to comply with ISP regarding programs, activities, therapy needs, behavior challenges, active treatment, and mealtimes, and ensure provision of socialization and positive learning experiences in the community.
  • Administer medications properly upon successful completion of the appropriate 16-hour medication technician or medication administration course, and monitor to ensure all staff are following medication procedures.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Knowledge in agency rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, specialized needs for individuals with intellectual disabilities, supervisory principles, and problem-solving.
  • Skills in oral and written communication, listening, and problem-solving, time management and motivation, teamwork and team building, and coordinating and monitoring the implementation of prescribed therapeutic routines.
  • Ability to manage emergency situations in an effective and professional manner, monitor the provision of care to individuals, including identifying problems and implementing solutions, and manage a diverse group of staff to develop goals and teamwork within the shift to accomplish those goals.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must be 18 years of age and able to read and write in English, and must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary.
  • Preference given to candidates with a High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma.
