The organization is looking for a highly skilled Principal Engineer for Equipment Solutions to spearhead the design, execution, and maintenance of critical components within their battery production technology. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in the design, procurement, implementation, optimization, and upkeep of systems related to dry bulk powder management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the design, development, and implementation of powder processing systems, encompassing bulk handling, conveying, mixing, sieving/screening, and metering.
- Foster innovation in equipment and process design through collaboration with key suppliers.
- Manage capital projects from inception to commissioning, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Conduct technical evaluations and feasibility analyses for emerging technologies.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and compliance, to improve equipment performance and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Guarantee the safe and compliant design and operation of systems for internal use and partner/customer sites across various regions.
- Provide strategic insights on equipment design and selection to enhance cost-effectiveness, capability, and compliance.
- Assist in the certification of integrated turnkey systems for powder processing.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project plans, technical specifications, and documentation.
- Ensure equipment systems are designed, implemented, and maintained for optimal reliability and uptime.
- Offer technical support and troubleshooting expertise to internal teams and clients.
- Align product development trajectories with equipment capabilities, reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in a scientific or engineering discipline, with extensive experience in fine powder handling and mixing systems.
- Over 10 years of experience in designing and implementing powder processing systems, including pneumatic and mechanical conveyance, high shear mixers, weigh batching systems, and automation.
- Strong knowledge of standards and regulations governing combustible and toxic powders.
- Familiarity with leading global suppliers of dry bulk handling equipment.
- Proven ability to lead projects that transition new technologies to market readiness.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, with a meticulous approach and proficiency in CAD, project management, and documentation tools.
- Solid understanding of lean principles and operational excellence.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support project execution.
