Perioperative Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Perioperative Technician to join our team at Owensboro Health. As a key member of our operating room staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical procedures.

• Assist with Surgical Procedures: Provide support to nurses and technicians during surgical procedures, including setup and preparation of operating rooms.
• Equipment Management: Identify and maintain over 100 pieces of equipment, including fracture tables, positioning devices, and surgical instruments.
• OR Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and disinfect operating rooms between procedures, ensuring a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff.
• Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Utilize critical thinking skills to resolve multiple work alerts and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Patient Transport: Safely transport patients to and from operating rooms, pre-op areas, and other departments.
• Inventory Management: Assist with maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment, including ordering and restocking as needed.
• Specialized Equipment Knowledge: Understand and utilize specialized equipment, including OR beds and accessories, to ensure proper function and maintenance.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of employment.
