Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder in Des Moines, IA. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and other maintenance duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard vehicle maintenance, preventive maintenance, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable.
  • Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Replace defective components as instructed.
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred.
  • Basic tools, required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance and basic diagnostics and repairs.
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred.
  • All other certification as required by location, required.
