Job Summary:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant with CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care under the direction of a nurse. This position requires a high school graduate or equivalent, with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant course within one year. You will be responsible for performing basic patient care tasks that contribute to a safe and comfortable patient environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic patient care tasks under the direction of a nurse.
  • Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and lifting.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the nurse.
  • Maintain a clean and safe patient environment.

Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Nursing Assistant course within one year.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Specialty certifications as required by each unit.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write English fluently.

Working Conditions:
  • Works irregular hours.
  • Exposure to infectious diseases and x-rays.
  • Subject to varying unpredictable situations.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to handle emergency/crisis situations.
  • Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking.
  • Frequently lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients or equipment.
