Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Radiation Therapist to contribute to our mission at DNA HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT LLC. In this role, you will be essential in providing exceptional radiation therapy services that positively impact patient care. Collaborating with esteemed radiation oncologists and a supportive healthcare team, you will ensure the highest standards of treatment.
Work Schedule: 3-4 days per week (Monday - Friday).
Key Responsibilities
- Administer radiation therapy treatments precisely as directed by the Radiation Oncologist, adhering to established safety protocols.
- Prepare patients for therapy, which includes simulation, positioning, and utilizing immobilization equipment.
- Calculate and deliver accurate radiation dosages while operating linear accelerators and other advanced radiotherapy machinery.
- Maintain comprehensive treatment records and ensure meticulous documentation within the electronic medical record system.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding radiation therapy processes, potential side effects, and management techniques.
- Monitor patients during treatments and communicate any concerns or changes in their condition to the Radiation Oncologist or radiation oncology nursing staff.
- Engage in departmental quality assurance and safety evaluations.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy.
- Valid New York State licensure as a Radiation Therapist.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency with a strong emphasis on precision and accuracy.
- Patient-centered approach with the ability to offer compassionate care.
- Experience with advanced treatment modalities such as IMRT, IGRT, or SBRT is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
