As a Radiation Therapy Supervisor at New York Cancer & Blood Specialists, you will oversee the daily operations of our radiation oncology department. This role requires a strong leader who can provide guidance and direction to our radiation therapists, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide treatments and simulations for patients in accordance with physician orders
Participate in performance improvement initiatives for the radiation therapists
Develop procedures and training for therapists on new equipment and treatments
Schedule daily staffing for the simulators and accelerators and maintain monthly schedules
Make recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, discipline
Coordinate the assignment of tasks and help resolve technical and operational problems
Provide effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the radiation therapists
Assist with ensuring adequate equipment and supplies for the radiation oncology department
Supervise overall operations and processes and provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist
Review prescriptions and other treatment information
Communicate basic information between the MD and the patient
Prepare equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices; and maintain records, reports, and files
Assist in dosimetry procedures and tumor localization
Requirements:
5 years of experience in a supervisory role in radiation oncology
Extensive charge capture and radiation coding knowledge
ARRT certified
ASRT-NYS DOH license active
Graduation from an AMA-approved radiation therapy program
NYS license as a radiation therapy technologist
ARRT registration or current eligibility for ARRT registration
