Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Technician to join our team at The Alden Network. As a Wound Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily nursing care to residents, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report any skin abnormalities or changes in skin integrity.
  • Assist with turning and positioning of residents, documenting in Point of Care (POC).
  • Monitor shower and bed bath completion for wound patients, assisting as needed and documenting in POC.
  • Participate in daily rounds with the Wound Care Coordinator/Treatment Nurse.
  • Monitor compliance with preventative skin moisture barrier, equipment usage, and specialty mattresses.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, as directed by the Wound Care Coordinator/Treatment Nurse.
  • Develop and implement a written plan of care for each resident, as needed.
  • Attend and participate in resident care plan conferences and family council meetings.
  • Report concerns and complaints made by residents or their families to the Administrator/designee.
  • Maintain a calm and positive environment throughout the department.
  • Participate in in-service education programs and implement an effective orientation program for new staff.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program with a certificate or written verification from the school.
  • Be at least 16 years of age, of temperate habits, and good moral character.
  • Provide evidence of employment or occupation and residence for two years prior to initial employment as a nursing assistant.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must possess current CPR certification or become certified within two weeks of employment.
  • Demonstrate interest and/or knowledge in caring for the ill, disabled, and elderly.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately.
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, visitors, personnel, and support agencies.
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, young, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people.
