Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Health Technician to join our team at Mendocino County Animal Care Services. As a key member of our animal care team, you will provide exceptional care and support to animals in our shelter, while also assisting our veterinarians with medical procedures and administering medication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine paramedical treatment to animals, including administering medications and immunizations
  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, such as surgery and euthanasia
  • Conduct physical examinations to determine the nature of illness or injury
  • Monitor the care of animals and maintain sanitary conditions in kennels and cages
  • Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals, equipment, and supplies, and record and report as necessary
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in a veterinarian office or animal shelter preferred
  • Possession of a California Registered Veterinary Health Technician or Animal Health Technician Certificate required
  • Valid CA driver's license required
