Job Summary

To provide therapeutic day treatment for youth experiencing difficulties in the school setting due to emotional/behavioral symptoms, we are seeking a skilled Therapeutic Day Treatment Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee entire consumer caseload at the designated school site, identifying clinical needs and goals for students transitioning into and out of the program.
  • Integrate input from teachers and counselors to facilitate student skill development, ensuring cooperation and compliance with pre-set standards regarding behavior and coping.
  • Conduct consumers' intake interviews and treatment/recreational planning, assessing strengths, establishing treatment goals/objectives, monitoring progress, and modifying treatment plans as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with students, creating a safe and supportive environment that promotes positive behaviors and self-esteem.
  • Actively participate in meetings with school personnel, mental health professionals, and other professionals who may act as members of the treatment team.
  • Develop and practice activities and trainings designed to enhance social and interpersonal skills, including problem-solving, anger management, impulse control, peer relations, and community responsibility.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in the Human Service field and one year of experience in the clinical and/or school/education setting preferred.
  • Must meet Board of Health Professions registration requirements for QMHP (A or C or A-Trainee or C-Trainee).
