Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT

Job Specialty: Pediatrics

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night - 12x3 - 7PM - 7AM

Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per week

Experience: Two years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred

License: Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner

Certifications:

  • Registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT required within 12 months if not already held)
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by a recognized organization required upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support required within 3 months of hire

Must-Have: NICU and PICU experience

Job Description:

Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory therapy services under general supervision for all appropriate age levels.
  • Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
  • Record treatment information and patient responses in computerized medical records.
  • Act as a resource person for medical staff.
  • Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients.
  • Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained.
  • Maintain necessary respiratory therapy records.
  • Participate in the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests.
  • Deliver age-appropriate care to patients.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to operate and repair respiratory equipment.
  • Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac care.
  • Ability to interpret patient information to identify needs.
  • Work effectively under stress.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain good working relationships.
  • Basic computer skills.
Education:

Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program.

Language:

English (Speak, Read, Write)
