Water Utilities Mechanic I

The individual in this role is tasked with the upkeep and repair of equipment at the Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, and Lift Stations. Responsibilities may include performing operational duties as assigned by management.
Water Utilities Mechanic II
$23.91/hour to $33.47/hour
This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment at the Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, and Lift Stations. The incumbent may also be required to carry out operational duties as directed by management.
Key Responsibilities
Water Utilities Mechanic I
1. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment at the Water Plant, Wastewater Plant, and Lift Stations.
2. Execute preventive maintenance schedules for systems at the Water Plant, Wastewater Plant, and Lift Station facilities.
3. Maintain accurate records of supplies, parts, and materials utilized.
4. Ensure operational readiness of equipment including plumbing, electrical, and pumping systems, as well as SCADA control panels.
5. Procure necessary equipment, materials, and parts to ensure plant operations.
6. Provide assistance as needed at wastewater and water plants or within collection/distribution divisions, including on-call coverage.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned that align with the role.
8. Adhere to regular and timely attendance requirements.
9. Engage professionally and respectfully with the public, colleagues, and others during daily operations.
Water Utilities Mechanic II

3. Provide supervisory support for maintenance activities in the absence of the Lift Station Supervisor.

5. Ensure operational readiness of equipment including plumbing, electrical, and pumping systems, as well as SCADA control panels.
6. Procure necessary equipment, materials, and parts to ensure plant operations.
7. Provide assistance as needed at wastewater and water plants or within collection/distribution divisions, including on-call coverage.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned that align with the role.
9. Adhere to regular and timely attendance requirements.
10. Assist in the training of Utility Mechanic I personnel.
11. Engage professionally and respectfully with the public, colleagues, and others during daily operations.

Water Utilities Mechanic I
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with one year of experience in the operation and maintenance/repair of treatment plant and/or lift station equipment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of relevant regulations is essential.
Must obtain necessary licenses within specified timeframes.
Must pass background checks and pre-employment assessments.
Water Utilities Mechanic II
Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
Must have 2.5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance/repair of treatment plant and/or lift station equipment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of relevant regulations is essential.
Must obtain necessary licenses within specified timeframes.
Must pass background checks and pre-employment assessments.
