Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation, filing, and service of pleadings and other legal documents.
  • Act as a liaison among parties, including courts and other neutrals, for scheduling and sharing information.
  • Coordinate the collection, review, and production of documents and respond to discovery requests.
  • Compile information and prepare statistics, charts, graphs, and other summaries to detail findings for cases and court litigations.
  • Communicate directly with clients, vendors, and co-counsel partners.
  • Request and review medical records and manage medical record requests with clients and vendors.
  • Draft and send correspondence.
  • Prepare legal documents.
  • Work with electronic document production and database management.
  • Open new case files in the case management software system.
  • Assist attorneys with tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program preferred, or a combination of education and/or experience.
  • 1-2 years of significant and substantive litigation experience as a paralegal/legal assistant in a law firm setting.
  • Experience drafting, cite-checking, and correcting legal briefs (trial and appellate).
  • Experience managing medium to large-scale document productions.
  • Working knowledge and competency with case management software.
