Job Summary:

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining microprocessor-based systems, including air distribution and pneumatic tube systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, maintain, and repair air distribution and pneumatic tube systems, including supply and return, exhaust fans, and system components.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose engineering plant complications and systems malfunctions, developing and implementing solutions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and casualty prevention work orders, recommending improvements and modifications as needed.
  • Develop estimates for repairs to installed equipment, determining means and methods, estimating time, material, and human resources needed.
  • Program air distribution, lighting, and Peak Demand Limiting (PDL) to optimize energy conservation and maintain an appropriate environment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Trade/vocational school graduate or equivalent with courses in chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, with knowledge of computer operations and programming of mechanical systems.
  • 5-7 years of experience operating and maintaining HVAC and microprocessor-based pneumatic tube systems.

Compensation:

$33.21 per hour.
