Job Overview:
As an OB Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining a sterile environment for surgical and procedural cases under the guidance of the circulating RN and/or charge RN. Your role will involve ensuring patient safety and promoting efficient patient flow in clinical settings, providing care that is appropriate to the patient's age.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Counting instruments and supplies in accordance with established policies in collaboration with an RN.
- Performing tasks related to medical information collection, health education, counseling, and supportive care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse or licensed physician.
- Adhering to Kaleida Health's policies and standards of practice.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED. Certification as a Surgical Technologist is required upon hire, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire. Completion of a Nationally Accredited Surgical Technology Program or a Military Surgical Technology Program is also required. New graduates have one year from graduation to obtain certification.
It is essential to maintain national CST certification granted by the NBSTSA, which requires 60 hours of approved continuing education every four years. Additionally, 15 hours of continuing education must be completed each year.
To qualify as a surgical technologist in New York, evidence of employment as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility for at least one year within the four years prior to January 1, 2015, is necessary.
Current Surgical Technologists as of the specified date will have a deadline to obtain BLS certification.

Scheduled Work Hours: 7 PM - 7 AM
Compensation: $31.51 - $39.90 per hour, determined by experience, qualifications, internal equity, and applicable agreements.
