Position: Facility Engineer - Mechanical

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering expertise for the management and upkeep of mechanical systems within facilities, collaborating closely with Operations and Maintenance teams.
  • Evaluate operational and maintenance protocols to enhance safety for personnel and optimize equipment uptime while reducing operational costs.
  • Specify mechanical components and equipment, establish process parameters, and oversee the commissioning of new systems.
  • Maintain technical documentation related to system operations, including Management of Change, schematics, and set points.
  • Develop project scopes and associated budgets.
  • Oversee multiple small to medium-sized projects.
  • Enhance energy efficiency and maintenance practices of mechanical systems, extending component lifespan and optimizing operational processes.
  • Identify and implement improvements to boost the performance of existing systems, thereby lowering facility operating costs.
  • Respond to production-related requests for support and equipment installations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems within facilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Aptitude for thriving in a dynamic, results-driven environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a facilities or operations support role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks is advantageous.
  • Experience in manufacturing, high technology, or semiconductor industries is preferred; this is not an entry-level position.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be capable of comprehending and executing intricate instructions and safety protocols. The role may require working in controlled environments with specific safety gear. Physical activities may include lifting, bending, and using hand tools, with occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Prolonged computer use and close vision tasks are necessary. Exposure to hazardous materials may occur depending on the assignment, and a high level of safety awareness is essential. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary based on project demands.

Qualified candidates must possess legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
