Job Summary
As a Radiology Technologist in our Orthopedics department, you will operate radiologic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, following established protocols and safety standards. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.Key Responsibilities
- Position patients and adjust equipment for optimal x-ray imaging, adhering to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Provide clear instructions and guidance to patients throughout the imaging process.
- Examine radiologic images for quality and accuracy, identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and process radiologic film, ensuring timely delivery to requesting physicians for interpretation.
- Maintain a clean and organized x-ray exam room, stocking necessary medical and radiological supplies.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor adjustments on radiologic equipment, notifying vendors of any equipment failures.
- Disseminate x-ray reports and images, maintaining accurate location logs.
- Schedule radiologic exams at outside labs as necessary, ensuring seamless patient care.
- Prepare x-rays with physician interpretation for radiologist over-read, ensuring accurate diagnoses.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management role that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
An Associate's Degree in Radiology or a related field is required. Completion of an accredited radiology program is preferred.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
- SCRQSA license RSQA - RAD QUALITY STANDARD
- American Registry for Radiology Technologists (ARRT) certification for Radiology
- New graduates must obtain and submit a Permanent SCRQSA license within 30 days of passing the ARRT registry. Temporary B SCRQSA licenses are acceptable for 30 days.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of physician practice experience is preferred.
