Job Summary

The MRI Technologist will work collaboratively with radiologists and fellow staff members to prepare patients and operate magnetic resonance equipment to obtain diagnostic scans. This role requires a high degree of competency in performing a variety of exams and procedures according to departmental protocol, as requested by physician order.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients' body parts for imaging and set appropriate technical factors on the imaging equipment.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.
  • Explain procedures and post-procedure orders to patients to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
  • Prioritize workflow in regard to patient condition and ensure timely arrival and departure.
  • Provide a conducive atmosphere for patient cooperation and confidence.
  • Utilize patient satisfaction and practice performance results to identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school for Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • 2 years of healthcare experience preferred.
  • ARRT or ARMRIT Registered in MRI, or eligible.
Working Conditions

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are necessary. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. May be exposed to radiation.
