Position Overview
As a Heavy Machinery Technician, you will be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance and repairs on intermodal heavy machinery in a dynamic outdoor setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret electrical and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Service and repair heavy machinery.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues with systems and components as necessary.
  • Maintain precise documentation as required.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and preventative maintenance in accordance with OEM guidelines.
  • Address customer-related equipment inquiries.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations to achieve a goal of zero incidents and injuries.
  • Assist in providing necessary training to ensure that all team members possess the skills required to perform their roles safely and effectively.
  • Maintain consistent communication regarding all activities with relevant personnel and comply with all company policies.
  • Participate in special projects or tasks as assigned.
  • Be open to cross-training and supporting other departments as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery such as forklifts and man lifts.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Possession of personal basic tools.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in environments with loud machinery.
  • Basic understanding of SPC fundamentals.
  • Commitment to understanding and following all company and safety policies.
Preferred Skills
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
  • Availability for after-hours call-outs.
  • Experience with low and high voltage systems.
