Position Overview
As the Accounting Manager within our corporate accounting division, you will play a pivotal role in steering the accounting team in a vibrant and rapidly evolving environment. We seek candidates with a strong background in team leadership, process enhancement, and preparation of schedules for monthly and quarterly reviews, as well as annual financial audits.
The ideal candidate excels in a high-growth startup atmosphere, possesses a keen attention to detail, and demonstrates outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities. Furthermore, the candidate should have a proven track record of fostering scalable cross-functional relationships through effective systems and process implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the month-end closing process by validating accruals, reviewing account reconciliations across various areas, preparing journal entries, and conducting fluctuation analyses.
- Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP standards and conduct merchant contract evaluations, including a thorough understanding of ASC 606 and ASC 944.
- Collaborate directly with our external audit team to facilitate the engagement by providing necessary reconciliation schedules, documentation, and process overviews.
- Assist in the rollout of new systems, tools, and processes to optimize the closing process and create scalable solutions to support the company's growth.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives aimed at automating core accounting processes, including data reconciliation, reporting, and analysis to enhance financial closing efficiencies.
- Lead a diverse team to achieve accurate task completion within established deadlines.
- Manage corporate expenditure processes, focusing on the automation and enhancement of procurement procedures.
- Engage with various business partners, including Sales, Legal, Engineering, Actuarial, and Analytics.
- Prepare schedules to support monthly reviews, annual audits, and regulatory reporting for tax purposes.
- Communicate with external tax consultants and oversee all quarterly and annual tax compliance submissions.
- Exhibit adaptability in a fast-paced work environment and drive special projects to successful completion.
Required Experience and Skills
- 5+ years of comprehensive experience in revenue and core accounting, including public accounting (experience in a public accounting firm is preferred; corporate experience is not mandatory).
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA certification is required.
- Prior management experience is essential.
- Proficiency with NetSuite or other major ERP systems is required.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process is a must.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., complex formulas and VLOOKUPs) and the ability to handle large volumes of transactional data.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.

- Experience with federal and state tax filings.

Compensation
Estimated salary range: $145,000 - $165,000 per year.
