Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Propane and Fuels Plant Manager to oversee the operations of our Carlsbad, NM facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the local operations of our Pico Propane and Fuels plant, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Plant Performance: Provide feedback to senior management on plant performance, maintain adequate systems knowledge, and support the regional manager.
- Inventory Management: Responsible for inventory management, meeting budget revenue guidelines, and evaluating daily, weekly, and monthly plant reporting.
- Customer Service: Resolve customer complaints, provide timely and professional responses to customer inquiries, and ensure region personnel provides excellent customer service.
- Personnel Management: Assist with recruiting and hiring, manage tasks, staff meetings, development programs, and operational reports.
- Proven leadership with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
- Ability to attain necessary certifications to ensure plant success.
- Ability to speak clearly, professionally, and eloquently, with the ability to be responsive.
- Ability to use active listening skills, while giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to handle multiple demands at one time.
- Proficient in the current Microsoft Office Suite.
Education, Certification, Licenses Required:
- An associate's degree or high school diploma/GED with at least two (2) years of management experience and experience in general trades such as plumbing, mechanics, etc.; or a combination of experience and education that results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- CDL-A with hazmat and tanker endorsements (preferred).
Physical, Mental, Behavioral Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch.
- Regularly and safely lifts, carries, and handles supplies and equipment weighing at least pounds.
- Must pass pre-employment screening and background check.
- Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed.
- Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases and airborne particles is common.
