Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Civil/Environmental Engineer to lead our team in planning, evaluating, and designing water, wastewater, and solid waste infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil/environmental health and engineering, with a Professional Engineering (PE) license issued by any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, review, and evaluate work completed by engineering staff to ensure that water, wastewater, and solid waste engineering projects are properly planned, evaluated, scoped, designed, and accurately cost-estimated.
  • Develop guidance and design criteria for water, wastewater, and solid waste infrastructure.
  • Develop individual development plans, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and justifications for awards and incentives.
Requirements
  • One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service, performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
  • Experience in leading, reviewing, and evaluating work completed by engineering staff.
  • Experience in developing guidance and design criteria for water, wastewater, and solid waste infrastructure.
  • Experience in developing individual development plans, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and justifications for awards and incentives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional and comprehensive knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, and techniques of civil/environmental health and engineering.
  • Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level.
