Compensation: $93 per hour (based on lecture hour equivalent)

Overview:

THIS IS A TEMPORARY, HOURLY POSITION WITHOUT PERMANENT STATUS

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver introductory astronomy courses within the Earth Sciences and Astronomy Department.
  • Adhere to administrative duties and comply with College, division, and departmental policies.
  • Facilitate and support a diverse student body through effective teaching strategies.
  • Evening and late afternoon classes may be required.
Essential Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in physics, astronomy, or astrophysics.
  • A strong commitment to the goals of community colleges and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural setting.
Desirable Qualifications:

  • Additional qualifications that enhance the educational experience.
Employment Conditions:

  • Presence on campus is required to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Background checks and clearance for employment are mandatory.
  • Must comply with the Child Abuse Reporting Act as a mandated reporter.
