Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide fire suppression and rescue services
  • Operate and maintain fire apparatus, including pumps and ladders
  • Perform physical tasks such as climbing, lifting, and carrying equipment
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Communicate effectively with citizens, coworkers, and supervisors
  • Participate in fire training classes and drills
  • Participate in fire prevention and life safety educational programs
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Texas driver's license, Class B
  • Clear and valid Texas driver's license, Class B obtained within 6 months of hire
  • U.S. citizen by birth or naturalization
  • At least 18 years of age but not over 35 years of age at time of hire
  • Texas Basic Firefighter License or currently attending a Texas Fire Academy
  • Must obtain EMT Basic License within first year of hire
