Job Summary:The RN Behavioral Health Nurse will provide professional nursing care to emotionally disturbed and/or mentally ill patients. This includes conducting intake assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Assume professional responsibility and accountability for a group of residents/patients
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients
- Administer and note reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications
- Assist patients in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment
- Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and patients
- Test for vital signs of pain and ensure treatments of pain
- Document all patient information on medical charts and follow physician's written orders
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN or LPN license in the State of Connecticut, in good standing
- Minimum one year clinical experience, preferably in an acute and/or Behavioral Health capacity
